Shimano
Shimano is a Japanese component manufacturer that has been making bicycle parts since 1921. We stock more Shimano parts than any other brand because they’re needed for servicing every day.
Our range includes rear derailleurs, shifters, cassettes, cranksets, disc brakes, brake discs and wheels, as well as Dual Fit shoe covers. The parts are divided into groups such as CUES, Deore, SLX, XT and GRX. Deore is a durable entry-level groupset for everyday riding and leisure cycling, while XT is lighter and more precise. The number of gears determines compatibility: an 11-speed shifter won’t work with a 12-speed derailleur.
Shimano hydraulic disc brakes use mineral oil. When the brake lever starts to pull all the way to the handlebar, it’s time to bleed the brakes. Find instructions in our article how to bleed your brakes. Bottom brackets also wear out faster than many people expect in Ostrobothnia’s sand and salt.
If you’re not sure which part fits your bike, bring it to our store in Jakobstad or Kokkola. We’ll work out together whether it’s worth replacing one worn part or the whole drivetrain.
