Basis for Data Collection and Processing

Personal data is collected and processed to enable the management of customer relationships. This includes, for example, the delivery of an online store order, notification of the arrival of an ordered product, handling of complaints, notification of service completion, filling out a financing application, and verification of bicycle ownership. It is not mandatory for the customer to provide their information when making a purchase, but in that case, the customer is responsible for retaining the warranty receipt/purchase voucher for complaints or insurance purposes. When leaving a bicycle for servicing, the customer must provide their name and phone number to inform them of the service completion.

Content of the Register

The customer register may store the following personal data: Name, address, phone number, email address, represented company or community, position in the company, payment method, contents of the purchase, brand and model of the bicycle for service, and the purchase date. VM Sport does not process payment card details.

Data Retention Period

Data in the customer register is retained indefinitely or until the registered person requests its deletion. Data is retained to facilitate recurring customer interactions and to verify the accuracy of claims in cases like bicycle frame warranties.

Regular Data Sources

Data can be recorded in the register when the customer makes a purchase in the VM Sport online store or physical store, or when the customer provides their information via phone, email, the company’s social media channels, or other interaction with the company, such as at events.

Data Disclosures

Regular data disclosures include providing the subscriber’s contact details to an external carrier. This disclosure is necessary for the delivery of ordered products.
