Grounds for data collection and processing
Personal data is collected and processed to enable us to manage the customer relationship. Customer relationship management involves, for example, placing an online order, notifying you of the arrival of the ordered product, processing complaints, notifying you of the completion of the service, filling in a finance application and establishing the ownership of the bicycle. The customer is not obliged to disclose his/her data when making a purchase, but is responsible, for example, for keeping the bicycle's warranty receipt/proof of purchase for claims or insurance purposes. When leaving the bike for servicing, the customer must give his/her name and telephone number so that he/she can be informed when the service is completed.
Data content of the register
The following personal data may be stored in the customer register: name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, company or entity represented, position in the company, method of payment, content of the purchase, make and model of the bicycle and date of purchase. VM Sport does not process payment card data.
Data retention period
The data in the customer register is kept indefinitely or until the data subject requests the removal of their data from the register. The data is kept to facilitate the customer's repeated transactions and, for example, to verify the accuracy of a claim in the case of a bicycle frame accident.
Regular sources of information
Data may be stored in the register when a customer makes a purchase in VM Sport's online shop or store, or when a customer provides their data by phone, email, through the company's social media channels or in other interactions with the company, for example at events.
Disclosures of data
Regular data transfers include the transfer of the subscriber's contact details to an external carrier. The transfer of this information is necessary for the delivery of the products ordered. The information in the customer register is stored in an electronic system protected by firewalls and passwords. We pay particular attention to the processing of all personal data.
Rights of the data subject
The data subject has the right to obtain restriction, rectification or erasure of data processing (right to be forgotten) and to be informed of the data stored about him or her.
