Since the bicycle benefit came into force at the beginning of 2021, commuter cycling has not only been in the news in the media, but has also grown exponentially in popularity. So what is it all about? A company bike is a bicycle purchased by an employer for his employee on a leasing contract, which may also be used on personal leisure time. The use of a bicycle does not oblige the employee to cycle all his/her journeys to work and does not affect other benefits or allowances.

Our company bike partners are specialised in the provision of company bikes. They take care of all the work involved in the procurement and management of company bikes, so there is no extra work for the employer. We work as a supply partner for most of the companies that provide the supply and management of work experience bikes in Finland, so you and your employer can choose the most suitable partner.
For the employee, the company bike offers the opportunity to buy a high-quality bike at a very low price. There is no need to pay for the bike in advance, the taxable value is deducted from the salary each month. If the employee wishes, he or she can redeem the bike for an agreed percentage of the purchase price. Agreements may vary between providers, but often the redemption is possible for around 5% of the purchase price.
As the bicycle allowance is a tax-free benefit in kind for employees, you will not have to pay tax on the bike allowance as part of your salary. The most common way to use the benefit is for the employee to deduct the taxable value of the bike allowance from your salary, so your income is also reduced by the amount corresponding to the taxable value. And as your taxable income goes down, so does your tax rate. Your salary level affects the benefit you get from the bike allowance. By redeeming a bike at the end of the leasing period, a Finnish average income earner saves around 20-25 % on the purchase price of the bike compared to if he or she had bought the bike outright without the bike benefit.

At the time of purchase, the contract bike can be equipped with the accessories you want and, for example, periodic maintenance can be agreed as part of the purchase price. This way, if you need maintenance, you only have to go to our shop - the rest is taken care of.
When you choose a commuter bike, you have access to our full range of bikes up to €4000, including electric bikes. So you can choose a city bike, a road bike, a gravel bike, a mountain bike - you name it. And if you can't find the model you want straight away, we'll do our utmost to get it for you. Some of our cycling partners also offer insurance, as long as the bike lock is approved.
